Bill’s full-time watercolor career began by opening the Sand Dollar Gallery with his daughter Nancy. Bill and Nancy had 27 years together at the Sand Dollar. International Artist Magazine recognized Bill as one of the best Master Watercolorists in the United States. Bill’s book, “Transparent Watercolor, My Second Career”, is available at the gallery along with many of his original watercolors.
William (Bill) Condit started Denver’s first graphic art studio in 1945. He designed the original Colorado mountain license plates which remain a Colorado icon.
As a Colorado native, Nancy studied fine arts at UNC, Loretto Heights and Utah State University. Her primary focus began with porcelain ceramics. She has mastered a unique style of glazing; sumi brush strokes with slips & luster glazes. Watercolor painting, she has developed an abstract style all her own. Her paintings are whimsical, colorful and unique. Nancy has been teaching her watercolor techniques for over thirty years. Nancy's Watercolors can also be seen at Abend Gallery in Denver and The Wildside Gallery in Key West Florida.
“I approach creating art with great freedom. I like my pieces to dance with dynamic colors, opaques and metallics that express my passion and spontaneity. Unrehearsed, direct and bold brush strokes bring the colors of my art alive.”
